We have spend the last couple of days at McKinney Campground in Acworth, GA. Most of the campers left on Labor Day, so it has been pretty quiet, with just some of the retired folks still here, Lynette and I now included.
We have gotten in the habit of taking a walk after breakfast, nothing too serious, just a mile or so at a leisurely pace. There are tons of deer out here, many of the young ones still have their spots and one little buck with a couple of spikes. We see them so often, it’s easy to take them for granted after a while.
The lake during the week is quiet with the occasional boat roaring down the water in a big hurry to get somewhere. I’m not sure why, one section of water looks about the same as another to me, but then again, I don’t have a boat.
We met a nice couple who are also retired and are now living in Panama City. Tony is a retired sheriff’s deputy from Cobb County and they used to live in Austell, GA. It is amazing how easy it is to meet people when you are not is a hurry and have no one to impress. That is one of the things I like about this lifestyle. For the most part, people from tent campers to million dollars RVers all socialize and enjoy the outdoors.
We’re leaving on Monday and make our way leisurely up to Virginia and enjoy the coastal area for a while. We still have a few things to wrap up here but then it is “on the road” for a while while we are RVing the Country.
